Stephan Weed

Sports Emphasis Student/THE Columbus State CC

Stephan was born in Fort Myers, Fla. but at age 7 moved and grew up in North Carolina. Don’t get it confused, though, there is no love for Duke or UNC. Outside of school, his hobbies growing up were playing in local basketball, baseball and soccer recreation leagues as well as swimming. However, during these formative years, he found his true love to be football. Stephan played three years in high school but was never serious enough to make that next leap. Always fascinated with broadcasting since he was 12, he was an avid ESPN watcher, mostly Colin Cowherd. After graduating high school, he spent two years in Raleigh before ultimately deciding to ‘take his talents’ to Columbus for a change of scenery! He then attended Columbus State Community College and would graduate in December of 2016 with a Sports Management degree. But instead of pursuing a career in that field, he decided to go into sales and has been working in the mortgage industry since January of 2018 with Lower, formally known as Homeside Financial, in New Albany. Working in the mortgage industry has its benefits but it still was not exactly how Stephan imagined he would be spending his career.

Then one day he came across an ad for the Ohio Media School and finally decided to take that leap back into sports by pursuing a career in broadcasting. He fell in love during the tour and could not wait to get started on his new path. With zero prior experience, this seemed like a new challenge to him that he wanted to take head-on. He is excited to have the potential to follow his dream of covering football and all sports. His main passion is with the NFL and as a huge Green Bay Packers fan, and occasional Browns fan, he saw this as an opportunity he never could have again. His plans for post-graduation from OMS consist of being able to run a full-fledge football show, with other sports and gambling lines sprinkled in.

Wally Lukachinsky

Sports Emphasis Student/THE Ohio State Graduate

Wally was born in Akron, but moved to the Pittsburgh area before he was a year old. He considers himself a proud “Yinzer” and is a diehard Penguins and Pirates fan, but somehow his wires got crossed at a young age and he became an Oakland Raaaaaaiders fan.

Growing up Wally’s other hobbies included movies and tornadoes and he often dreamed of storm chasing in the spring and summer months before he’d come home to play professional football in the fall and winter months. Seeing that 5-foot-9 men weighing in the high 200-pound range don’t have a high demand, regrettably Wally had to re-envision his future.

That's when he decided to take his talents back to where it all started and decided to attend THE Ohio State University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Sports Industry and then went on to float around in sales for a short time.

However, Wally’s long-term plans have always been to become a sports talk personality since he was in high school but he wasn’t quite sure how to turn them into reality. Miraculously, he stumbled across the Ohio Media School online and within 24 hours was enrolled.

His passion has always been for sports; and this program has him excited for the opportunities that will present themselves in the near future.

Marvell Nichols

Sports Emphasis Student/OMS Graduate

AKA “The Walking ESPN” and “Facts Vellerman”, Marvell's love for sports (and especially sports history) stems all the way back to his childhood.

Being competitive by nature and loving to be physically active, sports have naturally gravitated towards him and shaped him to be the person he is today. The Ohio Media School has allowed him to be a part of the Score On Air team full of other talented individuals who have helped elevate his gift of writing, journalism, speaking sports and learning the behind the scenes techniques of media.

This talented young man hopes to bring his vast wealth of knowledge and entertainment value to the Score On Air Network and his ultimate goal is to provide a platform to help others ensure that same level of success he plans on achieving when he makes it big in the industry.

Ty Fisher

Sports Emphasis Student/OMS Graduate

Tyler Fisher is a 2018 Ohio Media School graduate and is now partaking in the 2020 Ohio Media School Sports Emphasis program. After graduation, Tyler became a Social Media/Website Development instructor at the OMS campus before becoming a Staff Writer for SB Nation's Massive Report covering Columbus Crew SC of Major League Soccer.

One of his fondest memories of being a media member was being able to cover the 2015 MLS Cup when the Crew played host to the Portland Timbers. Unfortunately, Crew SC lost 2-1, but it was still a great time and experience for him both personally and professionally.

Tyler also dabbles in video editing, photography and does a lot of traveling. It was while covering the Crew that he was able to travel and has taken several "mini-vacations" near and far going everywhere from the rainy climate of the Pacific Northwest to the sun-soaked skies of Orlando, Florida. During these ventures, many opportunities have come across his way, including being featured on multiple podcasts and radio shows.

In the future, Tyler hopes to achieve his dream of being a content creator or Social Media Coordinator for a professional sports team. If it's not here in Ohio, his dream landing spot would either be Portland or Florida.

Trey Modlin

Sports Emphasis Student/Texas Tech Graduate

Trey was born in Manhattan, New York, but has lived in Shaker Heights, Ohio since he was six-weeks old. He is a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indians and Browns. He graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 2011 where he was a two-year starter on the varsity baseball team. For nearly 15 years, he played for his Shaker Heights summer travel baseball team, the Ohio Warriors.

After high school, Trey moved down to the deep south for college and graduated in May 2016 from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Sciences. For the past two years, he was pursuing a doctorate degree in physical therapy before enrolling in the Ohio Media School to pursue his passion of covering sports.

His favorite sports memories include attending the 2019 MLB All-Star Game in Cleveland, driving to Alabama to see Texas Tech play in the Birmingham Bowl in December 2017, watching Texas Tech basketball play in the Final Four and face Virginia in the championship game in 2019, and celebrating the Cavs championship in 2016. Among his favorite sports tours include AT&T Stadium, The Star in Frisco, and both the Football and Baseball Hall of Fame. His favorite sport is baseball and he has attended games in 19 out of 30 MLB stadiums.

Off the field, he has been playing chess since age 4, and has been playing competitively since age 7. In addition to pursuing his Bachelors, he attended Texas Tech on a chess scholarship to compete in several prestigious state and national team tournaments. He achieved the title of National Master in October 2016.

Trey has played in a co-ed softball league in Cleveland Heights since 2018. He also enjoys traveling, jogging, and playing soccer to stay active.

Although Trey is new to sports broadcasting, he is very excited for the opportunity to learn from the best and begin working in the sports industry and is excited to start his career as a sports commentator, talk show host or multimedia journalist by hitting the field, literally, and covering a variety of sports and their teams.
