Andy Evans

Scoreonair.com Editor In-Chief/Sports Emphasis Instructor

Andy's journey began when he was still a budding student at the Ohio Media School's Cleveland campus back when it was called the Ohio Center for Broadcasting. After attending an event as an intern for an online radio station called Clevelandhits.com, he was asked to do a live announcement for the station and the rest, as they say, is history. He found himself hosting his own show as a weekend overnight on-air talent which was quickly parlayed a few months later as the station's full-time midday on-air host and production director. Other gigs came along shortly afterwards as a producer and on-air host at WCLT FM, WNKO FM and WBNS FM. In 2008, he felt the need to get further education and attended Ohio State, where he obtained a degree in journalism four years later. Soon after that, he scored a gig as a multimedia journalist with Columbus Wired and has been with them since February 2015.

In his time with C-Wired, he has been the feature writer for Ohio State football and men's basketball, covered the prestigious Memorial Tournament as well as Ohio's only Major League Lacrosse team, the Ohio Machine. In his spare time, he hosts his own podcast, The Buckeye Leafcast, which can be found on Spotify, iTunes, Podbean, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

In February 2020, Andy became a Sports Emphasis instructor at the OMS Columbus campus and is also the website's editor in-chief.

Bob McElligott

Play-by-Play for Blue Jackets Radio Network and Hartley Hawks high school football/Sports Emphasis Instructor

A native of Somerset, Penn., Bob McElligott has been a veteran broadcaster covering everything from being the official voice of the Columbus Blue Jackets on the Blue Jackets Radio Network, to play-by-play for the Hartley Hawks.

Bob's engaging style and entertaining goal calls have become a favorite among Blue Jackets fans and you can hear his enigmatic play calling for every game on the team's flagship station, 97.1 The Fan. You can also hear him on our very own network's live streams of Hartley football every Friday night in the fall.

But Bob's true dream was to mold and shape aspiring broadcasters in the very craft he excels and in Sept. 2020, that dream became a reality when he took on a new role if his life as a Sports Emphasis Instructor at the Ohio Media School.

Ty Fisher

OMS Graduate/ Sports Emphasis Assistant Instructor

Ty is not only a 2018 Ohio Media School graduate but is now a proud 2020 graduate of the school's Sports Emphasis program where he's currently an assistant instructor.

After graduation, Tyler became a Social Media/Website Development instructor at the OMS campus before becoming a Staff Writer for SB Nation's Massive Report covering Columbus Crew SC of Major League Soccer.

One of his fondest memories of being a media member was being able to cover the 2015 MLS Cup when the Crew played host to the Portland Timbers. Unfortunately, Crew SC lost 2-1, but it was still a great time and experience for him both personally and professionally. Another fond, yet exciting moment for the 24-year old was being able to cover/work the 2020 MLS Cup, in which Columbus defeated the Seattle Sounders 3-0. From being there early in the day, to leaving at 2:30am the next morning, it was certainly a time to remember and he will cherish that forever.

Tyler also dabbles in video editing, photography and does a lot of traveling. It was while covering the Crew that he was able to travel and has taken several "mini-vacations" near and far going everywhere from the rainy climate of the Pacific Northwest to the sun-soaked skies of Orlando, Florida. During these ventures, many opportunities have come across his way, including being featured on multiple podcasts and radio shows.

In the future, Tyler hopes to achieve his dream of being a content creator or Social Media Coordinator for a professional sports team. If it's not here in Ohio, his dream landing spot would either be Portland or Florida.

Will Simpson

Sports Emphasis Graduate/Assistant Instructor

Will became an Ohio Media School and Sports Emphasis graduate in 2020 and during his time has specialized his talents with the uses of visual effects in graphic design.

Although Georgia-born, Will has lived in the Columbus area most of his 34 years. And as a proud father of three, Will is working hard to become an expert multi-media professional in all of Adobe Suites' software as well as becoming a budding photographer and videographer.

These experiences have included a variety of Score On Air broadcasts including producing student webcasts, director and videographer of Brick League basketball games, as well as a producer and director of the Score On Air Network's "Friday Night Final" and live streams of Hartley High School football games.

As a graduate of the school, Will is now lending a hand and sharing his knowledge with others as an Instructor's Assistant.
